Training and Education
A Future. Not A Past. conducts quarterly trainings for community ambassadors. These trainings educate citizens on the issue of the commercial sexual exploitation of children. It allows people to see the overall picture by discussing what fuels demand, providing updates on recent research findings and showing what you can do to prevent children from becoming victims. In addition, this is our second year of conducting trainings for law enforcement in partnership with the Governor's Office for Children and Families. We have trained over 1800 law enforcement in 50 counties on how to investigate cases related to the commercial sexual exploitation of children and are now launching another round of training with updated material. The course is a free, 2 hour POST certified training which covers the scope of the problem, how it relates to human trafficking, federal and state laws, interviewing victims and connecting victims to new resources available through the statewide System of Care. If you are interested in participating or hosting a training, please contact us at training@juvenilejusticefund.org.
